Weird, Cool, & STRANGE...

OK, who knew that foam – just like the stuff in your sofa or floating on top of your microwbrew – also is used by NASA for exploring outer space?

And, c'mon, what the heck is a compact disk really made of?

Is a sea sponge like a dish sponge?

There’s no way of knowing about these everyday materials until you get up close – and we mean really close – to discover they are made of "strange matter."

Strange Matter, our new exhibit, really gets you thinking about the molecular makeup of everything around us.

And, what's really fun is you get to play around with weird stuff like:
- a growing column of foam!
- ball bearings that bounce on one of the world's hardest metals!
- an awesome microscope camera that lets you see stuff magnified a bazillion times!

Hey – did you know your audio system rocks because of teensy, tiny, suspended iron particles inside of it?

How does the salt on your french fries look – we're talking at the atomic level.

And how does that cool touch screen phone work?

Come and check it out at Strange Matter!

Now through January 3.
