OK, let's admit it - it can be lots and lots of fun to blow stuff up, strrrrrr-etch globs of slime, and make a big, gloppy mess.
And, who would guess you could learn serious stuff at the same time?
That's what happens at Science Party. Come and see what a blast it is - literally!
Exploding a pumpkin, jumping into a big bucket of ooblek, mixing stuff that turns into weird expanding "elephant toothpaste," and playing around with liquid nitrogen (we're talking TONS O SMOKE) is not something you get to do just anywhere.
We get to because it's all related to our region's obsidian glass formation, lava flows, and volcanic eruptions. Come on down while school's out!
November 23, 24 and 27, 11 am and 1 pm.
$7, (plus admission - check out the new low winter rates!).
Members, $5.
Tickets and info at highdesertmuseum.org or call 541-382-4754, ext. 241.
PS: It's presented by Vernier and Bend Research. We couldn't have done it without them!
