Come and meet the new baby porcupine at the 1 pm Desert Dwellers wildlife shows this weekend, and on Sunday, find out which name is the winner: Juniper, Nettles, or Q'will!
Visitors have been voting for their favorite by dropping donations in the ballot boxes.
The name that garners the most money wins, and the proceeds help in caring for our porcupine family!
The porcupine is among many live animals that frequently appear at the Museum’s 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily Desert Dwellers shows. The show also features Bonnie and Clyde, badgers that demonstrate their amazing digging abilities, hawks, owls, snakes and other reptiles.
“Having the community participate in naming the baby porcupine has been a fun way to engage people in learning more about native wildlife,” said Vice President of Programs Dana Whitelaw. “Every day the Museum’s animals attract visitors to our educational programs where people discover the roles of wildlife in our ecosystem.”

This adorable baby may change people's prickly perceptions of porcupines!
